Let's Talk About Rescuer's Poor Commercialization...

I have a huge problem with this film. Compared to the other Disney Renaissance movies, this one lacks not only a didactic plot and pretty songs, but also any form of commercialized merchandise. I made the mistake of letting my son watch The Rescuers Down Under thinking it would be just like any other Disney movie, but oh was I wrong. Now all he wants to be for any dress up day is Bernard the mouse. I can't find a Bernard costume anywhere. We even went into the Disney store last week, and the majority of the staff had no clue what movie we were talking about. Even if there were a Bernard costume, I'd so much rather my son be something way cooler, like a Hercules or a Tarzan.
